TLA LandLink Membership Support Policy

Official Policy of the Tallgrass Legacy Alliance, Inc. for the support Ranchers in the Greater Flint Hills Region

The TLA LandLink Membership Support Purpose 

TLA supports Ranching Landowners and Landseekers in transitioning Ranchlands and Ranch Operations in the Greater Flint Hills Region by connecting them through multiple access points and opportunities - the K-State LandLink Program is one of the networks TLA supports Ranchers in this capacity.  

Policy Support & Requirements

TLA compensates Landowners and Landseekers for the cost of K-State LandLink access, travel to the first LandLink meeting with K-State LandLink Specialists, and mileage for the first two visits with potential Landowners or Landseekers:

  1. A Landowner or Landseeker agrees to commit to:
    1. Apply for the K-State LandLink Program and follow all required steps in order to be paired with a Landowner or a Landseeker.
    2. Meet with a K-State LandLink Specialist within six (6) weeks, or as soon as possible for the LandLink Specialist if greater than six weeks.
    3. Fill out a secure 5-minute Update Report via the TLA website in order to be reimursed for access fee as well as allowed mileage expenses referenced above.
       
  2. TLA agrees to commit to:
    1. Reimburse the Landowner or Landseeker for the current cost of joining the K-State LandLink Program.
    2. Reimburse the Landowner or Landseeker for mileage at current IRS mileage rate for the first meeting wtih K-State LandLink Specialists and two (2) first visits to with a potential Landowner or Landseeker in the LandLink Program.
    3. Support the Landowner or Landseeker in connecting them via other land and operation transition opportunities as requested and appropriate.
    4. The Landowner or Landseekers is required to fill out a secure 5-minute Update Report via the TLA website after each of these visits in order to be reimbursed.
